Solid Rock International College (SRIC) has four houses –Newton (yellow), Lincoln (green), Mandela (red), and Galileo (blue) – to promote integration across grade levels and team work. The House system also provides opportunities for students to discover their strengths and talents that might otherwise remain unknown. When students enter the College they are allocated to one of these four Houses. House spirit is strong, with a healthy rivalry and competition between them.
House related activities require an enormous amount of dedication, organization and planning..

 

THE HOUSES:

 Galileo House is named after Galileo Galili- an Italian scientist whose work revolutionized science  His observations confirmed that the earth and other planets revolve around the sun. He suggested the use of pendulum in clocks. The principle of gravity that the rate at which an object falls is not related to its mass, was also found out by him. The 'Compound microscope' was invented in 1590 and this also credited to Galileo. He also started experiments in 1592, which led to the invention of 'thermometer'.
